Adhaar UIDAI MOBILE MANUFACTURER SCAM

 UIDAI Aadhaar Card Helpline Number: Earlier the agency denied the obligation to add a helpline number to the contact lism of the user by any smartphone manufacturer or service provider.

Hours following a denial by the Indian Unique Identification Authority (UIDAI) that it has forced any smart-phone or telecommunications provider to add a hel-liner number to its contact lists, Google agreed that the 112 distress number and UIDAI number had been inadvertently coded into its Android settings wizard in 2014. That put an end to the argument over the mysterious UIDAI number on many Smartphone users' contact lists across the country.
"Our internal review has shown that in 2014 the number of UIDAI and the number of 112 distress lines was coded inadvertently

The Android release SetUp wizard given for use in India to OEMs and has been in existence since then. As the numbers are on the contact list of a user, they are transferred to the contacts on any new device,' said Google's statement.
Apologized by a Google spokesman for "any concerns this may have caused" he said "I want to ensure that this is not the case for unauthorised access to your Android devices."

Users can manually delete the number  from their devices.”
The statement said Google will be working to fix this in a "imminent release of a SetUp wizard to OEMs in the weeks to come."
Curiously, a few OEMs who were told by the media on Friday said that they had no idea how many devices had crept in. One of them, an Android device manufacturer, categorically says it has never added a number.

Two brand-new Android devices were checked by the media, one of which was not even launched in India, and both UIDAI number and distress numbers have already been found. All the phones we checked, however, did not have the number.

"It was stressed that 18003001946 was not a valid UIDAI Toll free number and a certain amount of interest was aimed at creating unjustified public confusion." The Aadhaar's official helpline number for the last two years, is 1947. The adhaar body maintains that no Android company manufacturers and telecommunications companies have asked to add the same to the contact list of users.
In the contacts list of the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, we found the UIDAI Helpline number. But on other devices such as an iPhone 7, Mi A1, etc we could not find the helpline number.
