The Center did not let in the second wave. In order to snap the chain of coronaviral infection, it requested all States and Union Territories (UTs), to take strict local measures. The government said it had to put into practise an intensive, local and based containment system in a Correspondence to all states and UTs. Taking into account the unprecedented peak, many states have already begun enforcing tighter restrictions by declaring a 14-day shutdown of Karnataka. These restrictions have already been declared by Delhi and Jharkhand and many other States are ensuring strict application of night curfews and lock-downs.

In the meantime, the centre has ensured a sufficient supply of oxygen and the transport problems are resolved. The Additional Secretary for Home Affairs, Piyush Goyal said, "There is absolutely no need to panic for oxygen. Several states are reassured that patients have been killed in recent days due to a lack of medical oxygen. Liquid oxygen is now banned for non-medical purposes by the government. However, ampules and vials, pharmacy and defence forces were later licenced to use the goods.

In the third step of the vaccination campaign, the government has also asked citizens to vaccinate and follow Covid 19's acceptable behaviour. By encouraging anyone above 18 years old to be vaccinated from May 1, the state has extended the vaccination process.
