KKR vs. CSK: during match 15 of IPL 2021 Deepak Chahar celebrated the wicket.

The magnificent 95 not off Faf du Plessis and the impressive four-handed outshone Deepak Chahar shines out half-century from Andre Russell and Pat Cummins when Chennai Super Kings beats Chennai Knight Riders by 18 runs in the IPL on Wednesday. CSK has put a total of 220 to 3 on the bat, and Ruturaj Gaikwad is 64 on the 60-ball du Plessis's unbeated 95. In the aftermath of the top-order collapse with a Chahar wracking havoc with figures 4 to 29 out of his four overviews, the KKR had to go into deep trouble, pursuing a steep objective.

Russell (54 of 22 balls) and Cummins (66 of them not off 34 balls) have boosted expectations of an unlikely KKR victory, but in 19:1 overall they all went on for 202. Not requiring 190 runs from 15 rows, Russell resumed chase for the KKR with 54 bubbles (3x4, 6x6) before Sam Curran was cleaned out.

However, KKR has not yet ended. Cummins had a sensational power batting with his 34-ball 66 (4x4, 6x6), but he just didn't have sufficient power left to keep the show going. Batting at No. 8 was a kKR pace spearhead.

For thirty runs and a four sixth run, Cummins smashed Curran to keep it alive though it still lost wickets. It was up to 20 runs in the last round with one wicket in hand. But in the first part of the final round, Prasidh Krishna was run out.

With six points from four matches the victory brought CSK to the top of the table, and KKR to the sixth place.

His ominous best was once again, when Chahar, who had ravaged Punjab Kings on the other day, swung the match to CSK's favour, to leave KKR at 31 to 5 in the power play.

The Talented Shubman Gill was snapped by Chahar, who took 4/13 against Punjab, and then took a golden duck with his swing and variation, and in the latter part, Nitisch Rana (9) was told.

But Chahar's largest wicket took the form of a skipper Eoin Morgan (7) the left-hander snatched an MS Dhoni outswinger and finished a safe capture as the first wicket holder to finish 150 dismissals in the IPL.

In search of a shift from fortune in their first match in Wankhede, KKR decided to take on flat ground, but du Plessis set off for a 95th class not after the impressive 64 of his initial partner Ruturaj Gaikwad, as CSK posted 220 to 3.

In his first three matches with a composite 42 ball knock, it was Gaikwad who came back after a series of bad outings, which set the course for the CSK after KKR chose ground.

In the finale in his 60-ball-knocking he crushed Andre Russell for three consecutive frontiers and ran for 90s with six off Pat Cummins. CSK finished it with Ravindra Jadeja struck Cummins six, whilst Nitish Rana palmed it across the border of the midwicket, which summed up KKR's misery.

After 64 guns MS Dhoni advanced to No. 4 and eventually broke his jinx against Sunil Narine, reaching his first boundary on the eight-ball 17 route.
